Hi, My Name is Lindsay Noelle!

It’s wonderful to meet you! I am very excited to be applying for the position of “Marketing and Communications Manager.”

This position originally caught my eye when I saw the job posting was from “OMNI.” As I mentioned in my resume, I am familiar with OMNI because I was part of an OMNI youth program back in ‘97 and ‘98. The “OMNI Teen T.V.” program allowed me to get up close with cameras and post-production equipment. I also learned to write compelling content. That program truly paved the way for me to study “Digital Media Production” in college.

I became extremely enthusiastic after learning more about this position and the opportunities to be creative and work as a team. I believe the best ideas are born from a group of people that are all enthusiastic about the same goal.

I would love to do that with OMNI!

About Me

Over the last 15+ years I have had incredible opportunities to learn and grow as a digital media marketer.

I created my company “Make it Fun Mom” over 9 years ago to help other moms navigate the best and worst moments of motherhood.

I learned in my own life that using “humor” and “fun” helped me to be a better mom. Whether I was doing homework with my kids, accomplishing household chores, or celebrating the small moments in life; I did my best to try to approach life through the lens of “fun.” My approach to “finding the fun” made my quality of life improve exponentially and I felt passionate about sharing my secret with others.

Creating “Make it Fun Mom” has allowed me to develop valuable marketing skills. I’ve learned how to identify target audiences, create compelling content, develop brand awareness and monitor the effectiveness of each type of communication. I’ve also learned how to tell stories that are impactful, spot business opportunities and nurture relationships.

Most importantly, I learned to listen to my core audience and communicate with them in an authentic way that was true to my brand.

Giving Back

My idea of success is more than generating revenue. I am most proud of the ways I have been able to give back to others and the authentic relationships I have been able to build both personally and professionally though my business.

I started creating my Facebook community in 2020 during the pandemic. After listening to other moms who felt lost, isolated and depressed, I realized there was an opportunity to help others.

Below is a video I created explaining why I created my community.

Why I created my community.

What has made my work so rewarding is the difference I’ve been able to make in other people’s lives. Over time I have received so many kind emails and messages from other parents thanking me for the community I built. I’ve been told that my community provided many families with hope during the pandemic by helping parents get out of the house in a safe way, share their experiences, and discover special ways to bond with their kids.

See the video below of the press that my community received.

Skills and Experience

Identifying Opportunities

Using a combination of critical and creative thinking allows me to see opportunities that others sometimes miss. I often see potential for partnerships, collaborations and revenue streams. While growing my business I continued to find sales opportunities. I taught a phone photography class, advertised local businesses, collaborated with other entrepreneurs, sold ad space and used affiliate links and unique promo codes.

Creating Compelling Content

I have years of experience creating content for all social media platforms. I am knowledgeable about tailoring engagement initiatives for various audiences and identifying the most impactful strategy to invoke a specific reaction from the audience.

Personal Stories

My creative writing skills allow me to tell impactful stories through photos, digital posts, long form videos and short “reels.” I have many years of experience with visual storytelling through my first business “Simply Unique Video.” For years I worked with people all over the globe creating video biographies for them. Most biographies were created to share at weddings, retirements, and anniversary parties. Creating a great biography entailed listening closely, highlighting the most important facts, and communicating a lifetime of stories into a concise 7-minute video!

Personal stories are a great way to connect and inspire potential donors and community partners. It allows donors to grasp the exact impact their donations will have. Personal stories also create an expression of “common humanity” with potential clients that might be reluctant to reach out for help.

Informational Content

Creating Informational Content is another strategy that I am very familiar with. While working as a consultant at West Chicago Park District, I created many infographics, charts, flyers and brochures for a variety of audiences. The audiences varied from sponsors and donors, to members of the community, as well as board members.

I am able to communicate complex ideas in as few words as possible by utilizing visual content. In my experience, you only have a few seconds to get your viewer to decide whether or not they want to invest in the time it will take to understand something. Informational visuals are extremely useful when explaining potential gains and past productivity. They are also a great way to explain complicated processes to team members, donors, and referral sources.

Humorous Content

I have found using humor in my content creation is one of the most effective marketing tools. I personally have used humor to grow my social media platforms by creating relatable memes, funny video trends, and humorous stories from my personal life. This approach has allowed me to create a feeling of familiarity with my audience and therefore a sense of trust.

In my experience there are many ways to incorporate humor when communicating to a variety of audiences. Identifying these opportunities definitely require collaborative content creation to decide what humor is appropriate in different situations. I realize this is especially true when it comes to community services. I’ve noticed more and more on social media, there are MANY therapy businesses that use humor to normalize therapy and asking for help. I can certainly see OMNI using that affectively with potential clients (both adults and youth).

I have also used humor when creating training presentations for the staff at West Chicago Park District. I found that adding appropriate funny memes and humorous antidotes made for a much more enjoyable training experience.

Supporting Staff Initiatives

As I’ve already mentioned, I am very excited about working with team members to create content that ultimately helps the most people possible. Helping others is something I am extremely passionate about.

I thrive on “wearing many hats” and I absolutely LOVE to learn new skills and collaborate with others. Although I’ve worked on my own for many years, I can’t wait to be part of a team again! Working as a team is great for supportive feedback and allows me to pivot and try a new solution. I learned throughout my career that the more I held onto my ideas that no longer worked, the more I held myself back from finding the better solution. Friends and coworkers are extremely valuable for becoming “unstuck” when an approach isn’t working

Website Management and E-mail Campaigns

I built my own website on Squarespace a few years ago which was a big learning curve for me! However, I’m happy I didn’t hire someone else to do this for me because I’ve become very proficient in navigating and updating my website effectively. I would be very excited to help manage and create content for the OMNI website!

I also have experience using MailChimp to create compelling emails and newsletters to my subscribers. I’ve gathered thousands of emails through the years and have been able to keep my members updated with group highlights and opportunities to purchase my “Phone Photography” class.
